HERstory

On this website, we explored the complexities of being a woman in France during the nineteenth century due to a patriarchal society. After analyzing postcards we were able to come to conclusions about what was considered a stereotypical “model” woman, and how this affected woman's transition from childhood to womanhood. In the end, our historical and material studies based Digital Humanities project aims at focusing on Her-story, rather than on His-story.
