IN SEARCH OF KNOWLEDGE: FINDING YOUNG FRENCH GIRL'S TALES (1880-1920)

Acknowledgments

We want to acknowledge Professor Duzer for the opportunity in allowing us to be a part of her research in better understanding woman's roles in France in the years 1880-1920.

We would also like to thanks Dorran Boyle, from the Ella Strong Denison Library (who graciously gave us access to an old Collection of books), as well as the Honnold Mudd Library (where we played a kind of book Scavenger Hunt).

And we would like to give a big thank you to the whole team from the Claremont Digital Humanities Initiative, especially Kharthik Basavanahllimanjunath for his technical Scalar support, and Eddie Surman for his helpful and enthusiastic guidance in Digital Humanities (from Zotero to Scalar).

It should be added that all the postcards used here are part of Professor Duzer's personal collection, soon to be curated on an Omeka Interface. All the images were scanned, and all the data on them were gathered and translated from French to English by Professor's Duzer wonderful research assistant, Tiffany Mi. She made the research and analysis actually doable for non French speakers scholars.

And finally, while the idea of this project was developed thanks to a Pomona College 2015 Hahn grant dedicated to memories & Proust (thank you Mary McMahon!), most of the physical postcards were collected in 2012-2015, when Professor Duzer participated in the research group "Savoirs des Femmes", directed by Michel Pierssens - who should also be thanked here.
