重刊擬古 - Reprints and Recreations: Journey through Time and Space
Many books are printed more than just once, and so too have Buddhist scriptures been printed and reprinted throughout the centuries. Many ideas flow without the restriction of borders, and so too have Chinese Buddhist texts spread across East Asia, becoming adapted in various ways to new societies and cultures.舍利子！色不異空，空不異色；色即是空，空即是色。

Look, Śāriputra: form is no different from emptiness; emptiness no different from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself form.

Both of these items have been reprinted or recreated over centuries of intervening time and hundreds of miles of intervening space. Though their content has not substantially changed, they have been recontextualized and reinterpreted according to the needs of new eras and new societies. Whether it be an academic recreation for scholarly study both in and out of East Asia or a practical reprint for religious use, these documents attest to Buddhism’s lasting and living influence in the modern world.
